Tomorrow we elect a new president of the United States. Life is about to change. Some of us will be elated, thankful, and hopeful for the future. Others will be despondent, sad, maybe angry, and fearful of the days of head. Some have lost hope. They feel that no matter who gets elected president, our nation is in a downward spiral.

We are truly at God’s mercy with this election.

Regardless of who is elected tomorrow, we look to God. He has more options to work with than we can even imagine. Is God going to bless our nation, or is He going to discipline us? Maybe He’s going to do both.

I pray for God to honor this blessing over America and over each individual. The scripture comes from Numbers 6:24-26. Aaron and his sons were to bless the Israelites with these words:

“The Lord bless you and keep you;

the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you.

The Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.”

May God not only bless us, but may He also have abundant mercy upon us.

May we be aware of His presence and His love in our daily lives.

The bottom line is this – God will still be God when the election is over.
